Week 4: Shadows and Light

I wanted to photograph shadows from the trees and power lines across my road, shadows of trees crossing my lawn, and shadows of each blade of grass crossing each other when you stuck the camera right down into the turf: couldn't get the shots. Got photos of my road, lawn, and a green blur (maybe I should post these failures onto Fotothing?). I had more success with clear, solid patterns on cement, wood and rock. And my leg.
Got kind of excited by White's "Equivalence" theory, tried to get pics where you couldn't instantly identify the subject, to see if I could create some sort of "Equivalence" between the picture and some private memory/emotion/mental state. Had the day off today, couldn't ask for better weather. Great bright sunlight for shadows.

thank you for posting these pics. I was really getting nervous since I'm never really out at night and was a little unsure which pictures to take (the suggested pictures weren't working for me). Great idea's, I love the shadow of your had on your leg - that's really thinking outside of the box. I really like the contrast as well.

I agree with littlewing, but is it a tiled floor? I like the look of the squares and how the pattern seems to change the deeper you go into the picture.
