Today my husband and I took a relaxing ride to East Haven, Momaguin Beach. A place, when I was younger I can remember spending many exciting summers with my friends. A place I haven't been back to since those all too long ago teenage years. As I paced the beach I could remember the way this place made me feel, the salty mist in the air and a gentle breeze that balanced all the chaos of a teenagers life. I tried to grab that essence in some of these pictures, especially the beauty that surprises a person and almost takes their breath away. Enjoy!

Love the lifegaurd stand shot. I like the composition and I like that it is black and white. Gives it a nice effect.

On the shell one, did you make the border black and white? It looks like it. What program do you use and how do you do this? Always wondered... I have been using iphoto as Picasa doesnt work on my mac so I dont think I have this option. I can always try to sneak and play at work though... shhh...

Yeah the one with the shells I used the color focus on the shells after making the rest of the picture black and white. I've been using picasa since the class started and I love it. It makes me look like I know what I'm doing, even though I'm not that creative...lol.

Great job! My favorite is the life guard chair. I love the effect of black and white, it allows the chair to stand out.

I like the clear water shot at the top. I also use to hang in Momaquin as a teenager. It was always a great place to be and you describe it perfectly.
