Timeless

It is eight o clock, do you know where your friends are?

Floyd's Fish

Just some tropical fish pictures to kick off the nice weather.

Hey Class

Hey Class,

Sorry I was so late on my first post. I coach High School football and we had practice this week. I am married with two teenage kids. I have been employed at Sikorsky Aircraft for the last ten years. I already walked in May and now I have to complete my last elective.

Old New Haven

This was also taken in downtown New Haven (Yale).
It is quite an experience to walk through Yale and to see the old architecture, it really is amazing.

Looking up at Old New Haven

My fiance and I took a ride into New Haven last night for a drink and snap these while walking the streets.

I'd like to start with a big HELLO to all my fellow bloggers!

My name is Margo, and I'm a senior at Albertus Magnus. It's been 4 very long years, but I do experience a tiny bit of nostalgia when I realize that this will be my last class. Getting a good grade in this class will be very important, but I'm excited to embark on this journey that is Photography. My daughter (my companion in the picture) calls me "Technologically Illiterate", but from what I will learn from this class, I'm very determined to prove her wrong.
I want to end by saying that I hope you all will enjoy my pictures as much as I'm sure I shall enjoy yours. Good luck to you all, behind and in front of the lens!

Free as the Wind

I could not pass this up!
My camera is now like my American Express card, I don't leave home without it!
I actually took a couple of minutes while i was filling my tank ($4.15 a gal) to take this picture.
I also said a pray for my brother who is in Afghanistan.

Sherry's Imagination

Hi All -

My name is Sherry and this is the second blog of the night..LOL! When I set up the first account I thought I would be linked to this blog - suprise....oh well so here I go again... I am quite excited about this online photography class, I heard some great feedback about this course and it also marks the end of a 4 year journey for me. Once I complete this course I will be receiving my Bachelors in Business - whats next? Masters? I thought this photo was a cool one to post. I set up the tripod in the bedroom set the timer and this was the result of what was taken. The lighting is dim however the room that this picture was taken in has that type of ambiance about it. The nightstand on the left of me is not the focal point of the pic - I am... really cool pic, hope you all agree.....

Guess

Do you know where this building is? It is reflecting upon itself and the clouds.

Flash/No Flash Sample

I think this is a great example of the difference betwen using and not using a flash. I found these in my picture files. They were both taken on our cruise last year, probably 20 seconds apart from each other. The top one I didn't use a flash and the bottom one I did use the flash. Personally, I like the lighting/color of the top one (no flash).

Hello Everyone!

I am so happy that we need to put up pics of ourself today because I have been telling my hubby for the past 3 months that we need to take some pics of my belly! I am 32 weeks pregnant and having a little girl who we plan to name Emily! I would have liked to have gotten them about a month ago when my bump wasn't so over sized but better late then never! hope you like them!

PS- Did you guys know that you can only upload 5 pics a day to Fotothing????

Keep Them in Our Thoughts

I took these today at the Veteran's memorial at Long Wharf. The 3 servicemen I enhanced with editing.

Michele - Additional Self Portraits

I added a few self portraits to my fotothing account, but wanted to share 2 here. The first is of me through the rear view mirror of my 1986 Turbo 300ZX...which unfortunatly is presently not running. Hubby has diagnosed it down to the computer and we are hoping to find one at a reasonable price to get it running again. In the meantime, you can see that it's "going no-where fast" sitting in our backyard.
The 2nd is of me on our hammock....let me tell you it's hard to look relaxed while trying to hold up a digital slr camera with an 18-200mm zoom lens on it, in one hand!

Hello Class

My name is Connie Scott. I'm in my 2nd year at Albertus.
I am married with 5 children, however, only 2 are home.
My self-photo is a shot of my "new hair." I am experimenting and trying to go natural with locks like my son Joey in the other photo.

Joey's been at it for approximately 5 years. As you can see it's very long, healthy and beautiful. I only hope mine will cooperate.

The final shot is my neighborhood. I live in Hamden and I adore landscapes.

Looking forward to learning with you all!

This picture was taken at the frog exhibit at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. I posted this one because I just love the contrast of the color of the frog and its background. The frog really stands out because of its coloring even though its background isn't too plain. I have another picture of another cool looking frog posted on my fotothing.com

My name is Carol and I'm new to this whole blogging thing. I'm still trying to figure out how to view all your pics from fotothing.com. I'm only posting one pic of myself on here because I prefer to be behind the camera as opposed to in front of it. I will submit many more in the future. I viewed soem of the pics you have all posted on the blog and I think they are interesting. I especially like the ones involving the motorcycles.

This is my last year at Albertus and I will be done in December. I'm majoring in Sociology and minoring in Criminal Justice.

Anyone that knows me knows that I love taking pictures. I took a photography class back in high school but it was for 35mm cameras. I learned how to develop my pictures in the dark room and make my own contact sheets. I fell in love way back then with black and white. I also love sepia tones.

I thought the reflection of the clouds in the globe was intense.

I took these 2 pic through a window pane at a mirror in a room to give a double reflection.

Sunday, June 1, 2008

Hi everyone! I'm Nicole and these are my last credits to earn my bachelors degree. I actually walked in commencement last month. So I'm excited to be finally finishing and getting some free time back.

I currently live in Plainville with my boyfriend and my dog Lexi. We bought our house two years ago, and have been busy since. Most of my free time and money is spent working on the house and yard. The first pic is a picture of a rhododendron in the backyard. I thought the color was pretty.

I also enjoy riding on our motorcycle, sitting in the backyard with a cocktail and a bonfire. I thought this would be a good class to take as I have had my camera for about 3 years and really haven’t done much with it. I enjoy looking at everyone else’s pictures and thought it would be a great opportunity to learn some things so I can take my own.

Here are a couple of my self portraits; the first one is a reflection through my car’s window. The second is a reflection of me through a window. I thought this one was kind of cool because it shows the reflection of the backyard while looking into my sun room. The last picture was in the mirror in the bathroom. This one was a bit clearer than the rest. However I'm still trying to perfect the arm out of the picture holding the camera. Since I don't have a tripod and there wasn't anything to rest the camera on, I tried cropping out my arm. Still getting used to Picasa2. I look forward to seeing and learning from all of you.

Hi Everyone! My name is Adrienne and I am a third year student at Albertus. I have been in New Dimensions program since the beginning and I plan to finish in February 2009.

I live in West Haven with my boyfriend, who is currently training for FDNY. So I am excited to finish up my degree to possibly move on to the big city. We will see...

I really enjoy taking pictures. I have too many if that is possible. I think it would be safe to say that I have documented 90% of all my major life events since high school. They aren't all necessarily what you would consider quality photography, but I love them all. I am excited to learn more about using the options on my camera more, and am looking forward to looking for creative ways to complete each assignment.

My self portrait was fun to take (I am in Key West as I blog...), but I was really worried about the water being so close. There were towels involved, but definitely not the safest environment for my non-water proof camera. Oh well, some of them came out pretty cool.

Talk to you all soon; cant wait to see everyone else's pictures.

- Adrienne

Backyard Flora

Here are some pictures I snapped in my backyard this morning. It's looking like a beautiful spring day today!

Picture in a picture

This is a picture hanging in my garage that i just took.
Everything but the orange flames is a reflection that is not in the actual picture.
That is me in the lower right hand corner taking the picture.

Driving While Blind

Hi everyone, just trying to think of something different to post and this is what I came up with. I will add some more throughout the day. rayb

This afternoon pics

Hi All,

I took a few photos today and wanted to share them with you. One was earlier when the sky began to darken in the distance and clouds covered the sun. I saw a fly on a rock and wanted a closeup before he flew. Two others were a colorful sky in the distance and sundown. I couldn't resist taking a picture of my daughter's dog after an exhausting day. I hope you enjoy them. Ray
